Music and the Arts
Morrow takes great pride in its music and arts programs, which blend the passion of volunteers with the skills of a community rich with both amateur and professional musicians and artists. The combination adds meaning to our worship as it does to our community.
We begin building the love of musical worship early, reaching out to kids as young as three to join the Carol Choir, which performs several times a year. The Chancel Choir is Morrow’s largest musical group, with about 30 members whose repertoire is chosen to amplify the message of the day’s scripture and sermon, as well as the diversity of our community and the global church. Groups such as our Intergenerational Orchestra let our adults and younger members work together.
The core of Morrow’s repertoire is the Methodist hymnal, but that is only a starting point. Come to our Sunday services for a year, and you’re likely to hear everything from Bach to Broadway, with even some barbershop and world music thrown in. That these diverse styles can all be harnessed to the single goal of praising God is in itself inspiring.
