Who We Are

The people of the United Methodist Church
      ♦  Help people
in their community
♦  Accept you for who you are
♦  Offer a place to belong
♦  Care for and support each other
      ♦  Respect other religions
      ♦  Support people facing difficulty
♦  Welcome diverse opinions and beliefs
♦  Guide others to find deeper meaning

We welcome people of all faiths into our church, especially people seeking answers to life's problems, who are questioning their faith, their very being. Because we know what it's like to feel alone and unsure...to need a welcoming and safe place with open hearts, open minds, open doors.

A Sunday Morning Primer

Worship Services and Religious Education
Our Sunday-morning worship service is at 10:30 AM during the regular church year (the Sunday after Labor Day in September to the second Sunday in June). Our senior pastor, Rev. Bobbie Rambach, leads most of the Sunday services, and our services generally run one hour. Our communion service is the first Sunday of each month. During the summer season, our morning service is at 10:00 AM and the service is slightly shorter. Music is a vital part of our service, with presentations by Music Ministry choirs and groups varying from week to week. Hymnals are located in each pew and all are invited to sing along with the hymns.

We offer religious-education programs for adults, youth and children at 9:15 AM, before Sunday service, followed by another program for children during the 10:30 AM service. We also provide a nursery where parents can listen to the Sunday service. During the summer season, we offer religious education for children during worship service.

After worship services, we gather in Fellowship Hall for Coffee Hour, a time of refreshments and conversation. During the summer months, we move our Coffee Hour outside onto the Baker Street lawn, which is especially lovely.

Location and Parking
Morrow Memorial UMC is located at 600 Ridgewood Road, between Lenox Avenue and Baker Street, in Maplewood, NJ. The sanctuary entrance is on Ridgewood Road, and our parking lot is directly behind the church building, accessible from both Lenox and Baker. Additional parking available along the adjoining streets. Our Directions page offers both dynamic directions (through Google Maps) and text directions.

On Your First Visit
If possible, please arrive 10 minutes before the service. Our greeters will meet you inside the entrance to the sanctuary. Please introduce yourself and let them know you are a first-time visitor; you can sign our guest book, as well. The greeters are happy to provide you with information about the United Methodist Church, and if you have children, they will explain the process of Children’s Time and the available church school programs. Please complete a visitor’s card, located on the back of each pew, and drop it into the collection tray or give it to an usher. We invite you to come to Coffee Hour following service, where you can meet our pastor and experience the warmth and fellowship of our vibrant community. See you soon!
