COP: Christian Outreach Project
Morrow Church has been participating in the Christian Outreach Project since the mid 1980s. Each summer several of our high school youth and some adults travel to Camp Lou Henry Hoover, Middletown, NJ, for a week of hard work and fellowship.
They join representatives from other churches within our conference to form work crews and make home repairs for people who cannot afford to have the work done professionally and are not capable of doing the work themselves.

Past projects have included painting exteriors, building decks with handicap accessible ramps, roofing, replacing flooring and hanging drop ceilings. The crews are encouraged to spend time with their homeowners, sharing part of themselves as well as their skills.
Spirituality is stressed throughout the week. The 7:00 AM "morning watch" is a time for reflection. Lunchtime discussions are based on daily bible readings and evening worships incorporate song and scripture.
The cost for each participant is $320, which covers room, board and supplies for the work-sites. The youth pay a portion of their expenses and the balance is raised through an annual spaghetti dinner and talent show and by selling "COP shares" to the congregation.
